Alright, so I'm finally biting the bullet and ordering custom blinds. I've always just gone with whatever fits close enough from the big box stores, but I'm tired of the gaps and the not-quite-right look. The biggest thing I'm stressing over is getting the measurements right. I've watched a few videos, and most seem to emphasize measuring the width in three places (top, middle, bottom) and using the smallest measurement. Is that really the best approach, or are there othre tricks I should know?
Also, how much wiggle room is acceptable? I'm seeing conflicting advice on whether to deduct a tiny bit from the smallest measurement to ensure a perfect fit inside the frame, or if the manufacturer typically handles those deductions. What's been your experience? Any horror stories (or success stories!) relating to measuring and installing custom blinds would be super helpful to hear before I start wielding the measuring tape!
