Anyone else feel like YouthStyleHive, while cool, puts crazy pressure on everyone to constantly be "innovating" or curating the absolute perfect aesthetic? It feels like you can't just enjoy something simple anymore; you have to be deconstructing it, reinventing it, or finding the next obscure micro-trend. I see so many posts that are basically "how to subtly subvert [whatever mainstream style is popular now]" and it's exhausting to try and keep up.
It makes me wonder if it's actually fostering creativity or just creating a constant need to be performative. like, I genuinely like oversized sweaters and leggings (for example), but now I feel like I have to layer them in some hyper-specific way, add a repurposed thrift store belt, and take grainy photos with a film camera just to prove I'm not...basic?
Is this platform creating a generation of people who are more focused on appearing innovative then actually enjoying what they consume and wear? Anyone else experiencing this?
