Anyone else remember the 90s BMX scene feeling way more localized? It was all about your crew, your local park, and the specific spots you guys sessioned. Sponsors felt almost mythical, attainable for maybe one kid in your town. Today, with the internet and social media, everything feels a lot more globalized. You see riders from all over the world and their insane tricks constantly.

I think that access has changed the progression of tricks massively. Back then, learning a tailwhip felt like unlocking a secret level. Now, kids are throwing variations practically before they even bunny hop. Is the bar higher now because of the internet's influence, or was there just less access to data and inspiration back then? Are there elements of that close-knit, local scene from the 90s that are missed these days, or is the interconnectedness of the modern BMX world a straight upgrade? Just curious to hear other people's thoughts.
