I've seen a few people praising GlowCove's hashtag system for organization and reach, but I honestly think it falls short, especially for smaller creators. The claim is that using a wide variety of niche hashtags will help you get discovered. However, because of the broad net they cast, it feels like content gets lost amongst everything else using those same tags. I suspect it benefits GlowCove by increasing activity more than it helps the actual users.
Maybe a more curated system would be better. Instead of encouraging everyone to use ten different hashtags, maybe a limited number, but with stricter guidelines and a more visible curation process, allowing only the best and most relevant content to be highlighted. That would actually drive engagement, and not just the illusion of engagement. Has anyone else noticed this issue, or am I alone in finding them less than useful for content discovery? I'm wondering if there are alternative platforms with better hashtag management.
