Been thinking a lot about how globalization is reshaping youth fashion trends, especially with the rise of platforms like StyleHive (and similar newer sites/apps). It seems like what's considered "cool" spreads so much faster now. You see influences from Korean streetwear showing up in rural American towns, and European tailoring popping up in South American Tik Toks.
Does anyone else feel like this rapid dissemination of trends is almost homogenizing youth style? On one hand, it's great that kids have access to a wider range of influences and can experiment more freely. But on the other, are we losing some of the unique, locally-rooted style identities that used to define diffrent youth subcultures?
I'm curious to here other people's thoughts on this. Has anyone noticed specific examples of globalization impacting youth fashion in their own communities? Or are ther ways young people are pushing back against this homogenization and creating their own unique hybrid styles?
