Just wrapped a series of TrendTapestry workshops and wanted to share a few lessons learned that might help others running similar sessions. One thing that consistently improved participant engagement was dedicating the first 15 minutes exclusively to examples. Instead of diving straight into the framework, showing real-world applications, even outside the participants' direct industry, helped spark creativity and get everyone on the same page regarding what "a trend" actually looks like.

Another key takeaway: actively managing group dynamics is crucial. In larger groups, designating specific roles (e.g., "Idea Generator," "Devil's Advocate," "Synthesizer") prevented a few voices from dominating and ensured everyone had a chance to contribute. We saw much richer and more diverse trend insights as an inevitable result. Has anyone else found similar strategies effective in their own trend analysis workshops, or have option approaches that have worked particularly well? I'm especially interested in how others handle the data synthesis phase – that always seems to be the biggest challenge.
