I've been following the discussion around YouthStyleHive and whether it needs more regulation, and I'm curious to here more perspectives. On one hand, it’s great that young creators have a platform to express themselves and possibly build a following (and even earn money!). We've seen some incredibly talented young designers and stylists emerge.
However, I worry about the lack of oversight regarding potentially harmful trends or promotional material.Think about those "challenges" that sometimes pop up on other platforms – with younger users, there needs to be a stronger filter to prevent exploitation or the promotion of unsafe behaviors. Also, are the guidelines on advertising and sponsored content clear enough for young users to understand they are being marketed to?
What level of regulation would actually be beneficial without stifling creativity or driving users to less regulated, potentially even more dangerous platforms? Is there a middle ground that protects young creators and consumers while still allowing the platform to flourish? Interested to hear what everyone thinks.
