I was just thinking about old tech that, for whatever reason, vanished and it's a real shame. Not necessarily better tech, but stuff that filled a niche or had a certain charm that modern replacements lack.Like, dedicated eBook readers with physical page turn buttons. They still exist, technically, but the focus has shifted to touchscreens, and I miss the tactile feel of the buttons for swift navigation.
Another thing that comes to mind is the simplicity of early digital cameras. The picture quality wasn't amazing, but the lack of menus and features made them instantly accessible – point, shoot, done. Now, even basic cameras are loaded with options that can be overwhelming. Is there any tech that you feel like disappeared too soon or maybe got overcomplicated?
