Okay, so thinking about luggage and the sharing economy in the next decade... I wonder if we'll see a real rise in luggage rental services? Like, for those occasional trips where you need a specialized bag, say for skis or camping gear, it seems wasteful to buy something that'll just sit in storage 95% of the time. Maybe we'll have apps where you can rent different types of luggage from individuals or small businesses, kind of like Airbnb but for suitcases.

Beyond simply renting out standard suitcases, I'm curious about the potential for shared "smart luggage" systems. Imagine luggage wiht integrated GPS tracking, digital scales, and maybe even built-in power banks that can be accessed by multiple users through a secure renting platform. Maintenance and sanitation would be key, and reliability would be super important for users to trust the system. Also, how would airlines handle the liability/identification aspects? ItS a lot to work out, but the cost savings and reduced material consumption coudl be a big draw.

what do you guys think? Is shared luggage a viable concept, or are hygiene concerns and the desire for personal ownership going to keep it from really taking off? Any potential hurdles I've missed?
