Just ripped out a section of drywall in my bathroom remodel and, yikes, found some mold. Not a huge patch, but definitely enough to be concerned. This is my first DIY bathroom gut, so I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed on how to properly get rid of it before I start putting everything back together.
I've been reading about different solutions online, from bleach mixtures to vinegar, and even some specialty mold-killing products. I'm leaning towards something that will actually kill the mold at the root, not just bleach it away and have it return later. Has anyone successfully tackled this themselves? What methods worked best for you, and are there any specific products you'd recommend (or definitely warn against)? Also, what precautions did you take to protect yourself during the removal process? I'm especially curious about ventilation and the necessity of respirators versus just standard masks. Any advice is appreciated!
