So you want to start a food business? Beyond a great recipe, what skills are truly essential to succeed? I'm finding that product growth and efficient kitchen management are frequently discussed, but things like basic accounting and marketing strategies often get overlooked, especially by folks passionate about the food itself.

It’s tempting to just focus on perfecting yoru signature dish, but neglecting these other areas seems like a recipe for disaster down the line. For example, even a small online bakery needs to understand cost of goods sold and how to price products accordingly. Has anyone found a particular skill, perhaps outside the obvious culinary ones, to be surprisingly beneficial when starting out?

I'm curious what resources people have found helpful for developing these less "glamorous" but equally significant skills. Were there any specific courses, workshops, or online resources that helped you level up your business acumen?
