Anyone else get frustrated with wobbly wheels or floppy limbs on their older die-cast cars and trucks? I've been trying to restore a few vintage Matchbox and Corgi models lately, and teh loose joints are a real pain.I've tried a few different methods, ranging from tightening screws (when applicable) to using a tiny amount of super glue very carefully placed. The super glue works in a pinch, but it can make the joint entirely immobile if you're not super precise.I've also heard about using clear nail polish as a sort of "temporary" fix that adds friction but isn't permanent. Has anyone had good luck with that?
What are yoru go-to techniques for tightening up loose joints on these old toys without damaging them or making things worse? Any advice or preferred products woudl be greatly appreciated! It's a delicate balance between preserving the originality and making them display-worthy again.
