Vintage plush toys are so charming, but those stubborn stains can be a nightmare! I've been trying to restore a few old Steiff animals, and the discoloration from age and who-knows-what-else is proving really arduous.Wondering if anyone has any go-to methods for lifting stains without damaging the delicate fabric or causing color bleeding? I've tried gentle spot cleaning with diluted baby shampoo, which helps a bit, but some of the darker marks are just clinging on for dear life.

I'm notably concerned about internal stains, like if something was spilled inside the toy years ago. Is ther any hope for that, or is it best to just accept that some imperfections are part of their history? I've read about using oxygen-based cleaners, but I'm hesitant to try anything too harsh. Any advice on tackling old stains while preserving the integrity of these vintage lovelies would be greatly appreciated! What’s worked (or definately not worked) for you?
