I think we focus way too much on the quantity of screen time instead of the quality when it comes to our kids in HomeNurtureCircle. It feels like everyone is hyper-focused on the daily minute count, but is anyone actually checking what their kids are doing online? my kid might "spend" an hour on his tablet, but if he's learning to code with Scratch or watching a documentary about space exploration, is that realy the same as mindlessly scrolling through short-form videos?

I understand the concerns about addiction and developmental delays, but I think blanket restrictions can backfire. It can make screens more appealing, leading to sneaking and lying. Also, depending on the child, complete restriction isolates them socially if their peers are all playing a specific game online, as a notable example.

Ultimately,I believe in teaching kids media literacy and self-regulation rather than imposing strict limits. We need to have open conversations about responsible usage and help them develop critical thinking skills to evaluate online content. What are your thoughts? Are there more productive approaches that focus on content and context instead of just time?
