I've been thinking a lot lately about the whole "gentleman" ideal, and it truly seems like ther are so many little things that can chip away at the vibe, even if someone is trying to project an image of sophistication and respect. It's almost like a death by a thousand paper cuts of bad etiquette.
For me, one of the biggest culprits is constant phone checking. You could be dressed impeccably and have perfect manners at the dinner table, but the second you're glued to your screen every few minutes,it throws the whole thing off. It sends a message that the person you're with isn't as meaningful as whatever's happening on social media.
Another one that always gets to me is being overly loud or boastful, especially in public. Confidence is attractive, but immediately launching into stories about your accomplishments or making a spectacle of yourself completely undermines the impression you might be trying to make. It screams insecurity, rather than genuine class.Anyone else have pet peeves that instantly dismantle the gentleman façade? What seemingly small things make you think "Nope, not a gentleman?"
