I'm setting up SmartHomeHarmony and trying to get a handle on naming conventions for my devices. I keep reading about how vital it is to have a consistent system, but haven't found much concrete advice beyond "be descriptive." What best practices have you all found helpful?
Specifically,I'm wondering about things like including location in the name (e.g., "Living Room Lamp," "Bedroom Fan") versus relying on room assignments within the SmartHomeHarmony app. Also, how do you handle multiple similar devices in the same room? For instance, if I have two lamps in the living room, do I call them "living Room Lamp 1" and "Living Room Lamp 2," or is there a more intuitive way?
Any tips on structuring the names for voice control would also be greatly appreciated.I'd like to be able to easily say things like, "Turn on the living room lights," or "Dim the bedroom lamp." I'm hoping to avoid constantly having to remember awkward or overly specific device names. I'm open to any and all suggestions, even unorthodox ones!
