I'm curious about teh absolute bare minimum hardware needed to run SmartHomeHarmony effectively. I'm not looking for a bells-and-whistles setup, just a basic installation to control a few lights, maybe a thermostat, and integrate with a Google Home or alexa device.
has anyone successfully run it on a lower-powered machine like a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, or are we definitely talking Pi 4 or better? I'm concerned about potential lag or instability if I try to stretch the resources too thin. I'd also like to know if the database size grows significantly over time, impacting I/O performance on slower storage mediums like microSD cards commonly used in Raspberry Pis.
Alternatively, if a dedicated hub is absolutely necessary, wich offers the best performance for the price when aiming for a minimal setup? I've seen some mixed opinions on whether a more expensive hub offers a noticeable speed improvement compared to a more entry-level option when your only controlling a handful of devices. Any insights woudl be greatly appreciated!
