I've been diving into StyleSynthesis recently, and while the artistic possibilities are amazing, figuring out where to even start was a steep learning curve. I found a decent "Beginner's guide: Essential tools for starting with StyleSynthesis projects," but I think it could have been even more helpful.
One thing I wish it emphasized more was the importance of a good GPU. You can get by with a CPU, maybe, for very small experiments, but realistically you're going to need a dedicated graphics card. Something with at least 8GB of VRAM seems like a safe bet to avoid constant "out of memory" errors that plague beginners. The guide mentioned tensorflow and PyTorch, which are great, but didn't delve into their CUDA compatibility, which is crucial for GPU acceleration.
Also, while the guide talked about diffrent style transfer algorithms, I would have loved to see more examples of pre-trained models. Having something readily available to tweak right away, instead of promptly diving into training your own, could greatly improve the learning experience and allow beginners to create compelling results faster. Has anyone else found particular pre-trained models especially helpful when starting out?
