I've noticed some pretty significant differences between the mountain biking adn road cycling communities, and I'm curious if others have had similar experiences. It truly seems like mountain biking is frequently enough more inclusive and less focused on performance metrics. maybe because crashes are an accepted part of the sport, there's a greater emphasis on camaraderie and helping each other out. Road cycling, in my experience, can sometimes feel more competitive, even on casual rides. There's also a bigger emphasis on gear and marginal gains, which can be intimidating for newcomers.Another thing I've observed is the difference in environmental awareness. While both groups generally appreciate the outdoors, mountain bikers seem more active in trail maintenance and conservation efforts, perhaps because they're more directly impacted by the state of the trails. Of course, these are just broad generalizations, and I'm sure there are exceptions within both communities. What are some of the key differences you've noticed between these two types of cycling communities?
