Anyone else find themselves increasingly annoyed by the disappearance of good, detailed physical tech manuals? I'm not talking about those flimsy quick-start guides that come with new gadgets now. I mean actual manuals that explain how things work, troubleshooting steps, and diagrams. Remember those?
It feels like everything is moving to online-only documentation, which is okay in theory, but often ends up being a fragmented collection of FAQs, poorly organized help pages, and dead links. Try fixing somthing when the only "manual" is a series of five-minute YouTube videos of questionable quality.I was recently trying to figure out a weird issue with my washing machine (a generic brand), and the online manual was basically useless. I miss the days when you could open a well-indexed book and find a detailed clarification of the machine's inner workings and potential solutions. Is this just me being nostalgic, or is the decline of physical manuals actively making it harder to repair and maintain our tech?
