I've been thinking a lot about the ethics of sharing images from accounts like CozyCribTales, which often showcase obviously privileged living spaces. On one hand, thay can be aspirational adn offer design inspiration. There's a visual appeal to carefully curated comfort.
But on the other hand,is it tone-deaf to constantly broadcast images of immense wealth and privilege, especially in a world grappling with massive inequality? Does it contribute to unrealistic expectations and feelings of inadequacy? Are we essentially showcasing a curated reality that many people can never achieve, inadvertently adding to societal pressure and anxiety? It’s not about shaming anyone's lifestyle, but rather questioning the constant, frequently enough uncritical, promotion of extraordinary affluence as the norm. What are your thoughts?
