Anyone else feel like kitchen tech has gone almost sci-fi-level in the last decade? I'm thinking specifically about the rise of smart appliances. We've gone from basic ovens to ovens that can be controlled remotely, preheated on your way home from work, and even have built-in cameras so you can check on your roast chicken without opening the door!

Beyond integrated tech, I've also noticed a huge shift towards more specialized gadgets. It feels like every year ther’s a new appliance designed to perfectly accomplish one specific task, like making yogurt or sous vide cooking. While some might see redundancy, I think it speaks to our growing interest in food and home cooking. Are these single-purpose gadgets actually useful in the long run, or are they just space-wasters marketed to capitalize on fleeting trends?

material science seems to be playing a bigger role. I'm seeing so much more focus on non-stick coatings, induction compatibility, and overall durability. My old ceramic pans from the early 2010s were a disaster after a few months, but the newer stuff seems to actually hold up. what are some kitchen equipment innovations you all have noticed and found really impactful?
