I used to think cycling was just for kids or serious athletes.Growing up, a car was the default, the only practical way to get anywhere. Public transit was limited, and honestly, the idea of sweating my way to work just didn't appeal. Then gas prices spiked, and I started really looking at my transportation expenses. Commuting alone in my SUV felt ridiculously wasteful.

I started small, just biking to the grocery store for quick trips. Then I tried commuting one day a week.It was tough at first! My legs burned, and I arrived a sweaty mess. But after a few weeks, something shifted. I started feeling healthier, more energized. I noticed things about my neighborhood I'd never seen from behind the wheel of a car.

Now, I try to bike almost everywhere. The car is still there for long distances or bad weather, but it's no longer my default. I've even started exploring longer rides on the weekends. It's amazing how much my perspective has changed.Has anyone else made a similar transition? What were some of the biggest challenges and rewards you encountered?
