Seeing a lot of buzz about AR potentially revolutionizing DIY, especially with apps that can measure rooms or visualize furniture placement.makes you wonder how far it can really go.Beyond just simple measurements and visuals, could we see AR walkthroughs that guide you step-by-step through plumbing repairs or electrical wiring? Imagine an app overlaying instructions directly onto the pipes or wires you're working with!
My biggest concern is accuracy. I’ve tried a couple of those measuring apps on my phone and, while cool, the results can vary wildly depending on lighting and camera quality. For something simple like picture hanging it’s probably fine, but woudl you trust it to accurately cut lumber for a load-bearing wall?
What are your thoughts? Are we on the cusp of a legit AR-powered DIY revolution, or is it mostly hype for now? What are the biggest hurdles holding it back?
