Saw a really captivating post over in KitchenCreativesLab about edible packaging, and it got me thinking about how much waste that could cut down on in the kitchen. Imagine not having to toss out plastic wrap or wrappers after using something! They were experimenting with seaweed-based films, I think, for wrapping sandwiches and snacks.

It truly seems like there are still some hurdles, though. Like, how do you make sure it tastes okay and doesn't dissolve before you're ready to eat the contents? Also,I'd be curious about the shelf life and how easily it would tear or get damaged. But the potential is definitely there for a big reduction in food packaging waste.

Anyone else been experimenting with edible packaging, or have thoughts on how widespread this could become in the future? What are the biggest challenges you see to making this a reality in everyday kitchens?
