So, I just wrapped up my first collaboration through YouthStyleHive, adn wow, it was definitely a learning experience.I think I whent in with rose-colored glasses expecting everything to be super smooth, but the reality was a lot more nuanced.

One of the biggest things I learned is the importance of absolutely crystal-clear communication upfront. I thought I was detailed in my proposal about the type of content I'd be creating (short-form video showcasing a new skincare line), but the brand seemed to have a different vision in mind. We eventually worked it out, but it caused some unnecessary stress and delays.I now realize a pre-production call to nail down every detail, from aesthetic to key messaging, is essential.

Also, figuring out fair compensation for the time and effort involved is trickier than I anticipated. I focused on the number of followers I have, but didn't fully consider the rights they were gaining to use the content, or the amount of post-production work involved (editing, revisions, etc.). Next time, I’ll be breaking down my rates itemized and thoroughly researching industry standards for similar collaborations. Anyone else have similar experiences or tips they'd like to share from working with similar platforms?
