So, I've been working as a TrendTapestry Analyst for about six months now, and looking back, I cringe at some of the mistakes I made early on. Thought I'd share a couple in case it helps any other newbies.

First, I massively underestimated the importance of understanding the nuances of different online communities. I was treating a subreddit with a very specific, niche focus the same way I was analyzing broad-appeal platforms like Twitter, and the results were…garbage. I was wholly missing the context and internal humor, leading to misinterpretations of sentiment and trend direction. Lesson learned: deep dive into the culture of any community you're analyzing. Read the FAQs, lurk for a while, understand their inside jokes before trying to extract data.

Second, I relied too heavily on automated sentiment analysis tools without properly validating the results. I remember one seemingly positive trend about a particular influencer actually being sarcastic criticism due to a recent controversy. The AI totally missed it, and I almost presented misleading facts to my team. Now, I always manually review a sample of data to make sure the AI is actually picking up on the right cues. Anyone else have similar struggles when starting out? What were your biggest "oops" moments?
