So, I wanted to share some lessons learned from building my shop on ArtisanHive. I initially jumped in without really understanding their fee structure, and that definitely bit me in the butt. I was pricing things too low, not factoring in all the costs involved, and pretty much working for peanuts for the first month. I fixed this by meticulously going through each listing, recalculating profit margins after actually including all fees, and adjusting prices accordingly. It was tedious but necessary.

Another big mistake I made was not optimizing my product descriptions. I thought just slapping up a few basic details was enough, but my items weren't really standing out in search. I started looking at successful shops and noticed they had incredibly detailed descriptions, highlighting materials, dimensions, uses, and even care instructions. I completely revamped my descriptions, adding lots of relevant keywords and focusing on the benefits for the buyer. This drastically improved my visibility.

I severely underestimated the importance of good photography. My initial photos were just…bad, to be honest. Harsh lighting, cluttered backgrounds, just generally unappealing. I invested in a small, inexpensive light box and started paying more attention to composition and angles. The difference was night and day. Sales increased almost immediately just from improved photos. Has anyone else had similar experiences they'd be willing to share? What were your biggest hurdles on ArtisanHive and how did you overcome them?
