Saw a post asking about securing luggage on public transport and it got me thinking beyond just "keeping an eye on it." what are some practical tips for making sure your stuff doesn't walk away, especially on a crowded bus or train?
Beyond just visually monitoring your bags, do you guys use anything that offers an actual deterrent? Something like a small, retractable cable lock to attach your bag to a pole or seat frame, perhaps? Has anyone had success (or failure!) with that kind of approach?
And thinking about different types of transport… securing a backpack on a bus is different to securing a suitcase on a long-distance train. Any tips specifically for different situations? For example, on a train with overhead racks, I try to position my bag so that the zipper faces inwards, towards the aisle, making it slightly harder for someone to quickly access it without being noticed.
