Ever stumble across a cool old toy at a flea market or antique store and have absolutely no clue what it is? I've found some surprisingly helpful free online databases dedicated to identifying vintage toys.ItS amazing how much facts is out there, even for relatively obscure playthings.
I recently used one to identify a small metal car I found at a garage sale.Turns out it was a Lesney Matchbox car worth a few bucks! Without the database, I would have just thought it was a generic toy. It's not about the money so much as the history and the story behind these objects.Has anyone else had success (or frustration!) using these resources? Any recommendations for especially good databases or search strategies when trying to ID mystery vintage toys? I'd love to hear about your experiences.
