ArtisanHive is getting crowded. Really crowded. I'm seeing fantastic work, but also a whole lot of the same-old, same-old; slightly tweaked versions of popular items that everyone else is making. I'm trying to figure out how to actually stand out, not just blend into the background noise. I'm not talking about undercutting prices, that's a race to the bottom.
Has anyone found a real key to differentiating themselves? Is it hyper-niching down? Focus on a really specific sub-section of a broader craft? For example, instead of just "leather wallets" making wallets designed specifically for minimalist travelers with RFID blocking? Or is it more about nailing the presentation and marketing? Spending more effort on professional photography and genuinely engaging content creation?
I'm open to any and all advice, even the "tough love" kind. What aspects of your operation did you focus on to truly differentiate yourselves and find your ideal customer in a sea of talented makers? Did you find that certain product categories are inherently more saturated than others on ArtisanHive? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
