I'm seriously considering taking a professional toy restoration course, but it's a significant investment, and I'm on the fence. I've been restoring some older toys – mostly metal Tonka trucks and a few plastic action figures – as a hobby for a couple of years, and I enjoy it immensely. I've learned a lot through online resources and trial and error, but I keep running into situations where I feel like I'm lacking crucial knowledge, especially when dealing with rarer vintage items or more complex repairs like re-wiring battery-operated toys from the 60s.

Has anyone here taken a formal toy restoration course? Was it worth the cost and time commitment? Did it considerably improve your skills and open up new avenues for your hobby? I'm notably interested in courses that cover a wide range of materials and techniques, from paint matching and decaling to repairing mechanisms and sourcing replacement parts. Any advice or experiences you could share would be incredibly helpful!
