Hey everyone, I'm curious how you deal with negative comments about your collections. Whether it's books, figurines, vintage tech, or anything else, it seems inevitable that someone will eventually rain on your parade and tell you they don't get it, or that it's a waste of money, or even just flat-out criticize teh items themselves.

I've found that sometimes it's best to just ignore it, especially if it's from someone who's clearly just trying to be a jerk. But other times, it's a friend or family member whose opinion I value, even if I disagree with them. In those cases, I try to explain what I find engaging or valuable about it, like the history behind a particular piece of antique glassware, or the technical ingenuity of an old portable radio.

What strategies do you use for handling negativity directed toward your collections? Do you try to educate people, ignore it, or something else entirely? I'd love to hear your thoughts and learn from your experiences.
