hey everyone,I'm looking for ideas too build a stronger sense of community within our local makerspace, notably around the mechanics and engineering aspects. We've got a good group of people, but engagement in workshops and collaborative projects seems lower than it could be.

I'm wondering what initiatives other spaces or online communities have found successful. Things like themed build nights focusing on specific skills (e.g., welding basics, 3D printing repair), mentoring programs pairing experienced members with newer ones, or even just regular "show and tell" sessions where people can share their projects and get feedback.Has anyone tried anything particularly innovative or unexpectedly effective in fostering a more collaborative and supportive habitat for maker-mechanics enthusiasts? I'm open to any suggestions, from simple social events to more structured skill-sharing programs. What are your thoughts on incentivizing participation, perhaps through small grants for collaborative projects or recognition for mentorship?
