I've been thinking a lot about the price of pursuing creative passions lately. We often see the highlight reels – the finished paintings, the published books, the accomplished streaming channels. But what about the cost of the tools, the software, the classes, the late nights, the sheer emotional toll of constantly putting yourself out there?

It feels like there's this unspoken expectation that if you're really passionate, you should be willing to sacrifice everything for your art. But what if "everything" includes your financial stability, your mental health, or your relationships? I've seen so many talented people burn out because they couldn't afford to keep creating, or because the pressure to monetize their passion sucked all the joy out of it.

Is there a healthy balance to be struck? How do you decide when the cost is too high, and when do you push through? Are there lasting ways to pursue creativity without wholly depleting your resources – both tangible and intangible? I'm curious to hear how others navigate this. Are you bootstrapping, leaning on community resources, or finding unexpected ways to make it work?
