I've been thinking a lot about how GlowCove has changed over the years, from what seemed like a niche project to somthing much more widely recognized. Initially,it felt like the focus was entirely on achieving a very particular aesthetic – that almost ethereal glow – primarily through dedicated hardware and specific software configurations. Looking back, it's interesting to see the progression from custom-built controllers to more standardized APIs and integrations, allowing users to achieve similar effects with a broader range of tools.
What I find especially interesting is how the community's input seems to have directly shaped its trajectory. Early on, the learning curve was pretty steep, requiring quite a bit of technical know-how. But as more people began using and experimenting with it,the demands for accessibility and user-friendliness obviously became clear. Now, you see much more emphasis on intuitive interfaces and readily available resources, making it far easier for newcomers to jump in and start creating.
I'm curious to hear others' thoughts on this evolution. Do you think the shift towards greater accessibility has been a net positive, even if it perhaps sacrifices some of the original, more specialized functionality? And what do you see as the most significant turning points in GlowCove's development?
