Has anyone else given much thought to the "flow" state in the context of long-distance motorcycle or bicycle riding? I'm talking about that feeling where you're entirely absorbed in the riding experience, reacting almost instinctively to the road, and time just seems to melt away. It's beyond just being comfortable; it's like the bike becomes an extension of yourself.

I find it engaging to consider what contributes to achieving that state on extended rides. Is it purely about skill and experience, the perfect weather conditions, the absence of distractions like complex navigation, or some combination of factors? Maybe it's about finding the right rhythm, like matching your breathing to the engine's RPM or the cadence of your pedaling.

I'm curious to hear if others have experienced this "flow" and what your thoughts are on how to intentionally cultivate it during long rides. Any tips for setting yourself up for success, either mentally or physically, before and during the ride?
