I've been seeing a lot of increasingly complex and flawlessly executed projects in MakerMechanics lately, and while the skill and precision are undeniably notable, I'm starting to wonder if the drive for absolute perfection is subtly stifling innovation. Are we so focused on achieving that perfect fit, that seamless weld, that we're less willing to experiment with unconventional designs or materials?

it feels like the barrier to entry is getting higher. Newcomers might be intimidated by the sheer level of polish, and even experienced makers might shy away from projects that carry a higher risk of failure (and imperfection). Remember all those wacky, maybe-not-practical-but-definitely-creative projects from a few years back? Are we seeing fewer of those as everyone's chasing that flawless aesthetic?

Maybe it's just me, but I think a little more visible experimentation and embracing of "happy accidents" woudl inject some fresh energy into the community. What do you all think? Is the pursuit of perfection helping or hurting the maker spirit?
