I'm starting to think the constant search for the fastest, easiest fix is eroding the overall quality of maker and mechanic work. We're so focused on duct tape and WD-40 solutions that we're skipping the crucial steps of proper diagnosis, root cause analysis, and learning the fundamentals of how things actually work. It's like instead of learning how to bake a cake, everyone just wants the pre-made frosting that covers up all the mistakes.

Think about car repairs, as a notable example. Instead of properly diagnosing a misfire and replacing the faulty component, there's pressure to just throw in some fuel injector cleaner and hope it goes away. Or in electronics, instead of tracing a circuit to find the broken connection, people just slap on some hot glue and call it a day. These shortcuts often lead to bigger problems down the line and prevent us from truly understanding the mechanics behind the issue.

Is this just me, or is anyone else noticing a decline in the quality of repairs and modifications as of this "fast fix" mentality? Shouldn't we prioritize understanding and long-term solutions over temporary patches, even if it takes more time and effort? Curious to hear your thoughts and experiences.
