I think the vintage toy collecting community often focuses heavily on a specific, older demographic's nostalgia, which inadvertently excludes younger generations who might genuinely appreciate these toys for their design, past meaning, or play value. While knowing the original release and accompanying cultural context is great, it shouldn't be a barrier to entry.

Such as, someone born in the 2000s might become fascinated by, say, a vintage Star Wars action figure they find at a flea market, even if they weren't around when The Empire Strikes Back premiered.Should they be made to feel like less of a "real" collector because their personal connection to the toy is different?

I'd love to see more discussion and shared gratitude that bridges age gaps in the hobby. maybe focusing less on "owning the original" and more on sharing the joy and history of classic toys can help make the community feel more inviting to everyone, regardless of how old they are or when they discovered these awesome collectibles. What are your thoughts?
