Anyone else hitting a wall trying to find skilled help for MakerMechanics projects? I'm not talking about basic stuff, but truly specialized skills like, say, TIG welding aluminum for a custom chassis, or someone who actually understands the nuances of programming a Raspberry Pi to control multiple servo motors wiht precise timing.
I've tried the usual freelance sites, local tech schools, even reaching out to maker spaces, but it's either overpriced for the skill level, or just a flat-out "no." Seems like everyone who's genuinely good is already booked solid (which, good for them!), or works for a major corporation. I understand the demand is high, but it's frustrating when you have a cool project idea and the biggest bottleneck is simply finding someone competent to execute a specific part of it.
Is this just a regional thing, or are others experiencing the same shortage of skilled labor in the MakerMechanics space? Any tips or unconventional places you've found reliable talent?
