I've been down a rabbit hole lately looking at old tech advertisements, and it's amazing how much the marketing has changed (or hasn't!) over the decades. I'm always on the lookout for good online archives. Are there any especially great resources you guys would recommend for viewing vintage tech ads? I'm especially interested in seeing how early personal computers were marketed, or even earlier examples, like mainframe terminal ads.
It's fascinating to see how companies pitched these complex machines to consumers or businesses. Some ads were incredibly technical, almost like mini-spec sheets, while others focused on aspirational lifestyles. I recently stumbled upon a collection featuring ads for early dot-matrix printers, highlighting features like "near-letter quality" as a major selling point! Made me realise how far we've come. What are some of the moast engaging or unintentionally funny vintage tech ads you've seen?
