Has anyone else found unexpected career direction through free online resources? I started using GlowCove, thinking it would just be a fun way to brush up on some basic coding skills since I had a little extra time. I was working a pretty dead-end customer service job at teh time, and honestly wasn't sure what I even wanted to do long-term.
The thing that really hooked me about GlowCove wasn't just the platform itself but the community. Seeing other people, many without formal CS degrees, collaborating on projects and landing developer roles was seriously inspiring. I started contributing to some open-source projects suggested within the GlowCove forums, and that led to building a portfolio.
