Been thinking about how robotics has evolved alongside teh maker and mechanics movements. It's fascinating to see how accessible robotics has become, moving from massive industrial arms to desktop CNC machines and 3D-printed robots anyone can build at home. I remember back in the day, just being able to control a simple servo with a microcontroller felt like a huge accomplishment.
Now, you can buy entire robot kits, with all the sensors and code already partly worked out. The democratization of tech, driven by the maker community and readily available parts, has realy accelerated robotics advancement. It makes you wonder where this is ultimately heading. Will we see open-source,customizable robots becoming commonplace for everyday tasks, kind of like how personal computers started? What milestones do you all think were most notable in getting us to where we are today – maybe the introduction of the Arduino,or the decreasing cost of sensors?
