spent the last few months knee-deep in StyleSynthesis implementations and wanted to share some hard-won lessons about actually proving its value. ItS surprisingly easy to get caught up in the "cool factor" and overlook how to demonstrate a real return on investment.
specifically, figuring out what to measure turned out to be trickier than the technical implementation itself. We initially focused on things like reduced rendering time and decreased asset creation time, which look good on paper, but didn't really translate to demonstrable business impact. We had to pivot and focus on metrics that directly impacted the bottom line - things like increased engagement on marketing materials due to more diverse assets, or faster time-to-market for new product lines as we could leverage StyleSynthesis to generate variations quickly.
Anyone else struggled with this? What metrics did you find most effective in justifying the investment in StyleSynthesis? I’m particularly interested in hearing about experiences outside of purely visual media, like maybe using it for data augmentation to improve model training?
