Just finished leading a few "TrendTapestry" initiatives (basically, rapid-response content based on trending topics) and scope creep nearly ate us alive each time. It's a constant battle to keep things focused when everyone's excited and wants to add just one more thing while the clock is ticking. What I've found is crucial is a really, really tight initial brief. We spend extra time upfront defining the absolute minimum viable product and making it clear that anything beyond that will be considered a Phase 2.

Another big lesson was about managing stakeholder expectations. Everyone thinks they're a marketing genius when a trend is hot, and suddenly wants to weigh in on creative direction. I started holding brief kick-off meetings with a single "decision-maker" present, rather than the whole marketing team. That person became the gatekeeper for feedback, which substantially reduced the "death by a thousand cuts" scenario we where experiencing before.

Has anyone else struggled with this specific challenge using this sort of reactive marketing strategy? Any tips for getting better at saying "no" gracefully (and effectively)? I'm particularly interested in hearing how other teams structure their approval processes for these initiatives.
