I've recently embarked on a project to document the technology that has come adn gone through my family's life, and it's been way more fascinating than I initially thought. From my grandpa's old ham radio equipment to the bulky desktop computer my parents bought in the late 90s, it's a tangible record of how technology has shaped our daily lives. It's been a real trip down memory lane, figuring out what some of these devices even did and how thay were used. Trying to get the old family camcorder tapes onto a modern computer format has been a particular challenge! but it's also made me think about how quickly technology evolves and how much we take for granted now.
Has anyone else tried documenting their family's tech history? What captivating finds did you uncover? I'm also curious about how you are preserving these things - is it all digital archives,or are you keeping some of the physical artifacts accessible? I'd love to hear your experiences and any tips for preventing bit rot!
