I recently experimented with using packing cubes for the first time on a week-long trip. Honestly, I was skeptical. I’d seen them recommended online, but always thought it was just another way to sell more travel gear. My usual strategy is just rolling everything tightly.

The results were…mixed. On one hand, compression was definitely better than my usual rolling method. I could fit more clothes in my suitcase, which was a win. Plus, it kept everything organized. Knowing where my shirts, pants, adn underwear were without digging through everything was surprisingly helpful.

However, I used four different sized cubes and felt it made repacking a little more tedious when moving locations every day. It was like a Tetris game every time.I'm wondering if fewer, larger cubes would have been a better solution. Has anyone else found a sweet spot with cube sizes and quantities that makes packing and unpacking smooth and efficient, especially when you're not staying in one place for long? I'm curious to hear about your experiences.
