It's wild to think about what tech we'll be feeling nostalgic for in 20 years. We're so used to everything being sleek, integrated, and constantly updated. I wonder if teh clunkiness of some of our current gadgets will become endearing. Maybe the specific versions of apps we use now, with their slightly awkward interfaces and limited features compared to whatever AI-powered behemoths come next, will evoke a similar feeling to how we look back on Windows 95.
I'm also betting on the loss of certain software quirks. Like, remember having to manually manage storage on your phone and painstakingly delete apps or photos? Or using specific file formats for things because compatibility wasn't universal? Those annoyances might become oddly charming reminders of a less streamlined digital world. It’s possible even the endless subscription models, currently so frustrating, will be viewed in retrospect as comparatively simpler than whatever system replaces them. What do you all think will be the tech equivalent of cassette tapes or dial-up internet for the next generation?
