I'm starting to build out my smart home, adn I'm finding the biggest challenge isn't the devices themselves, but creating a genuinely user-amiable dashboard to control everything. I want something my tech-unsavvy family members can easily understand and use without having to constantly ask me for help.
I've experimented with a few options, but haven't found the "holy grail" yet. Something with intuitive icons, clear labeling, and customizability would be ideal. I've looked into Home Assistant, but the initial setup felt a little overwhelming. I've also tried some simpler apps that connect to my existing Google Home setup, but they lack the granular control I'm hoping for.
anyone have recommendations for smart home dashboards that prioritize user-friendliness and easy navigation, particularly for a mixed ecosystem of devices (lights, thermostats, security system, etc.)? What dashboards have you found to be most approachable for less tech-inclined users? Any tips or tricks you've found to make them more intuitive are also greatly appreciated!
